One of the priorities of the chambers of commerce is the development of a system for the resolution and settlement of disputes. The structure of the Russian Chamber of Commerce more than one hundred arbitration and more than 30 boards of intermediaries. 

Center for Arbitration and Mediation includes the International Commercial Arbitration Court, Maritime Arbitration Commission, the Court of arbitration for the resolution of commercial disputes, Sports arbitrage, as well as the Panel of Mediators for the mediation procedures.

Russia's leading international arbitration is the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation (ICAC), which examines the nature of international commercial disputes, including investment.

ICAC was established in 1932, is a member of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (MFKAI). 

ICAC activities regulated by the Federal Law "On International Commercial Arbitration," the Regulation "On International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of the Russian Federation", which is an annex to the Act and the Regulations of the ICAC.

List of Arbitrators of the ICAC has more than 160 highly qualified professionals, a third of them - foreign referees from USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and other countries. 

The Presidium of the ICAC arbitrators are from Russia, Germany and the United States. 

During its existence, the ICAC has administered more than 10,000 cases. 

The number of disputes coming to the ICAC, higher than in many international arbitration institutions.

In the role of the parties to the dispute in the affairs of the ICAC are major Russian and foreign companies (Siemens, Gazprom, GE, MAN, NOKIA, TNK-BP, Aeroflot, IKEA, Algy, and many others.). Increasingly, the ICAC acts as an intermediary between the two non-resident companies of Russia. In 2013 the share of such disputes was 10%.

ICAC received complaints with various amounts of requirements ranging from small to large amounts of the plaintiff's claim in excess of USD10 million. In 2013 the total amount received by the ICAC cases accounted up to 23% of cases with the amount of the claim in excess of USD10 million.
