«Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2021»: Chambers of Commerce Contribute to Resolving International Crises

Vladimir Padalko speaks at Kazan Forum

Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko on July 29 in Kazan participated in the plenary discussion «International System of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Success stories of world Chambers of Commerce and Industry with the Support of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.»

«Centuries pass, there are collapses, revolutions and sometimes events of an unhappy note, but the system of chambers of commerce and industry stands, survives and nothing is done with it, because all of us, chambers, have united and are under a single brand by the world federation of chambers of commerce,» said V. Padalko, speaking at a plenary discussion in Kazan within the framework of the meeting «Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2021».

Vladimir Padalko noted that this is exactly what happened between Russia and Turkey, when bilateral relations found themselves in a crisis after the assassination of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara (Andrey Karlov in 2016) and the death of a Russian pilot, noted the vice-president of the Chamber. (A Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down a Russian Sukhoi Su-24M attack aircraft near the Syria–Turkey border on November 24, 2015). At that time, the Chambers of Russia and Turkey were the first to extend each other's hands as a sign of reconciliation, he said.

When we had difficult times, we were the first to reach out to each other, Padalko said. - Communication went through the chambers of commerce and industry.

The Vice President of the Chamber highly evaluated the development of relations with Turkish partners. «Every day we make sure that our businessmen participate in exhibitions and fairs and earn corresponding money on trade and investments.» Relations with the chambers of commerce and industry of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are maintained in the same friendly manner, we maintain relations with the entire Islamic world, he noted.

Despite the fact that the state considers the Chamber to be a non-profit organization, it has become an integral part of state administration, a single core that provides services to entrepreneurs. While a person has a passport, and the enterprises that manufacture products have certificates of origin of goods and they turn to us for this certificate, and when friction arises between entrepreneurs, they turn to us. The Chamber is now not just an organization, but a huge corporation that provides services to entrepreneurs.

«Maybe we have different systems with the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, but we all work together for entrepreneurs and the state,» V. Padalko noted. "In the future, we see ourselves in the digital world so that an entrepreneur can receive all services and solutions online, and the primary link of communication is alive and well,” said Padalko. He also stressed the importance of the participation of young entrepreneurs in the meeting in Kazan, who "came here to get to know each other better."

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the discussion participants with a welcoming speech, who noted the role of chambers of commerce and industry in making decisions on important issues. “The government uses the initiatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to develop legislation,” he recalled. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan has 2,000 members and the organization allows business to successfully interact with authorities.

In the discussion also participated Yousef Hassan Khalawi, The Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA), Shamil Ageev, Chairman of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan", M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Hisham M. Kaaki (online), Chairman of the Mecca Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the others.
